One of the most well-known and ardent LA Lakers fans is Shannon Sharpe. In several of his debates with Skip Bayless, he has defended LeBron James, who he is also a major admirer of and supporter of. The former NFL player stole the show during Friday night’s game between the Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies at Crypto.com Arena. He had to be separated from Tee Morant, Ja Morant‘s father, at halftime.

Later in an interview, he revealed what caused the fight between the Memphis Grizzlies player’s father and him. He said, “They didn’t want this smoke, Dave. They do all the talking and jockeying and I ain’t about that jockeying. It started with Dillon Brooks. I said he was too small to guard LeBron [James]. He said, ‘F**k’ me. I said, ‘F**k you,’ back. He started to come at me and I said, ‘You don’t want these problems.’

He further added, “And then Ja [Morant] came out of nowhere talking. He definitely didn’t want these problems. Then the dad came and he obviously didn’t want no problems. But I wanted anything they had. Don’t let these fools fool you now.”

One can easily conclude that the fight started with LeBron James being the center of the discussion. James later after the game defended Sharpe by saying, “I ride with Shannon 365 days — 366 on a leap year — 24/7. So that’s my guy. I always got his back. And he’s got mine. He can talk with the best of them, for sure,”

The Ja Morant-led Memphis Grizzlies made an intense effort to overtake the LA Lakers. Austin Reaves, Lonnie Walker, and Anthony Davis—all of whom might play again next week—were unable to make it to tonight’s game. LeBron James struggled, making only 8-21 of his field goal tries and only 1 of 5 from beyond the arc. At the end of the game, James had scored 23 points 9 assists and 6 rebounds as he fell short of a triple-double.

However, the Lakers refused to falter because of the brilliant efforts of Russell Westbrook and Dennis Schroder. When the Grizzlies increased their advantage to 114-107 in the dying seconds of the game, it appeared as though it was almost over. It didn’t seem like they could pull off the impossible.

The calmness and serenity of the Lakers carried them home from there. In order to give Shannon Sharpe’s squad the lead, 121-120, Dennis Schroder stole the ball from Desmond Bane and scored the and-one. When Brandon Clarke was fouled two possessions later, the Grizzlies still had a chance to tie the score at 122 all. To give the victory to the LA Lakers, he only made one of both shots.
