Ever since Aaron Rodgers came to the New York Jets, he has had a strong influence on how the offense is shaped. Starting with recruiting OC Nathaniel Hackett to bring in his chosen receivers from the Green Bay Packers, it all had the star QB’s fingerprints. But the most impactful of them, WR Davante Adams, is now by his side.
With news of the trade lighting up electronic devices across the footballing world, Aaron Rodgers decided to take it one step further. While on The Pat McAfee Show, host Pat McAfee was speaking when the QB turned back to his right with a slight smile.
A beaming Davante Adams appeared and sent the entire show panel into cheers. They were caught off guard as the news of the trade had just been announced a short while before the time of this show. Then McAfee asked about his travel to New York and the entire discourse about Rodgers not answering his messages.
He was having second thoughts. We’ve been known to have…when it comes to pulling the trigger. We’re back man, we’re back.
Davante Adams jokingly answered
That response brought out some chuckles from the four-time league MVP himself, showing that the two have a close bond which has led to this trade.

This appearance suggests trade talks sped up after the Jets’ disappointing loss to the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football. Once they ironed out the details, Adams was already on a flight to New York to link up with his old running mate.
Davante Adams likely to play Week 7 against Pittsburgh Steelers
After the introduction, Pat McAfee asked a question about how the former All-Pro wideout would fit into the New York Jets offense. Adams seemingly knew the answer already.
I’m sure there’s a few new nuances, but for the most part, a lot of the same verbiage. Still the same OG right here (pointing at Rodgers). So, should be able to pick up where we left off.
Davante Adams replied
Adams confirmed his recovery is on pace and will be ready to play in Week 7. He was working with Las Vegas Raiders medical staff throughout the past several days in order to be in shape.
![Davante Adams will fit seamlessly alongside Aaron Rodgers in New York Jets offense](https://firstsportz.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Davante-Adams-will-fit-seamlessly-alongside-Aaron-Rodgers-in-New-York-Jets-offense-1200x675.jpg)
With his comments about the offense not being too different, expect Adams to seamlessly slide in right away. A player of his maturity will also not have a problem understanding and adjusting to those nuances.
If it all starts to click, expect this duo to start lighting up the scoreboards in games to come. Now the New York Jets are all in and have to win the Super Bowl as soon as possible. Then only will all this investment make sense to anyone.
