The Las Vegas Raiders came into this season with optimism about their future. A future that had stability, a loved face as the head coach, and a group of players who wanted to turn the franchise’s situation around.

But after three games, they find themselves with a losing record. As they head into week 4, they will face a struggling Cleveland Browns team on Sunday Night Football. A game that the likes of Maxx Crosby and Davante Adams would have relished their chances.

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport revealed some news head coach Antonio Pierce shared with the media. As quoted on his X page, he announced that Crosby and Adams will miss the Browns game because of ankle and hamstring injuries, respectively.

Big losses: Raiders coach Antonio Pierce told reporters that Las Vegas' two top stars -- Maxx Crosby (ankle) and Davante Adams (hamstring) -- are both out against the Browns.

Two of their most important stars missing the game is a huge blow in itself. The two needed to bring a response after their miserable loss last week.

The Cleveland Browns offensive line is down with injuries themselves. Maxx Crosby could have feasted on that and turned the game on its head on his own. Instead, the Raiders will hope that their last year’s first round pick Tyree Wilson takes full advantage of this opportunity. The Raiders defense played horribly last week, so everyone expects them to bounce back this week. But it will be without Crosby.

Other NFL elite receivers have so far torched the Browns secondary. Had Adams played this week, he could have exploited that better. Instead, the task will likely fall on sensational rookie tight end Brock Bowers and the rest of the receiving core.

Will Maxx Crosby and Davante Adams play next week?

Later when Ian Rapoport was on The Insiders on NFL Network, he was asked if the injuries were that serious. The longtime reporter revealed Crosby wasn’t supposed to play last week. Adams is limping pretty badly and his injury is slightly serious.

He wasn’t supposed to play last week, then willed himself to be out there. Seeing the head coach rule him out and then ‘doubtful’. As far as Davante Adams, goes, my understanding is it is not considered to be a serious and significant hamstring. But he is limping pretty bad.

Rapoport said.

His words confirm that Davante Adams is definitely out for this Sunday Night Football game against the Cleveland Browns. But Crosby has been upgraded to ‘doubtful’.

As Rapoport said, it suggests he could repeat last week’s recovery and eventually play. With some time still to recover, it could be possible that he will suit up. With their star wideout though, the Las Vegas Raiders might as well exercise caution.

As per what Rapoport said, he is limping and is in pain. Even though they have told him that the injury is not that serious, proper rehabilitation will be necessary to recover if he is to suit up against the Denver Broncos next week.
