With Week 11 of the 2024 NFL season around the corner, the New York Jets are in a state of disarray. Once thought of as Super Bowl favorites, Aaron Rodgers and his star-studded team are on the brink of not making the playoffs.

Early in the season, the Jets lost their first game but then bounced back with two wins. Both those wins came against struggling teams but at least helped Aaron Rodgers shake off the rust. Then their next game against the Denver Broncos was something they would want to wipe from their memories.

However, in their next four games, the offense struggled as Rodgers racked up the numbers, but turnovers undid whatever good they tried to do. So much so that the lack of offense was becoming apparent as analysts and fans felt he was not playing to his best.

Then Mike Williams slipped on a crucial first-down play. That led to Davante Adams coming in, but even his presence could not help stop the losses. The second of that coming against the same bottom feeder New England Patriots.

They did win convincingly against the playoff contending Houston Texans. But their embarrassing loss this week has made a major dent on their playoff chances. With this season seemingly over, reporters at practice wanted to know if Aaron Rodgers wanted to play next season.

I think so yeah.

The reporter wanted to know if the problems shown this season had changed his initial intentions of playing next season. The 40-year-old reiterated that it had no impact on his decision, and he will want to suit up next season.

Aaron Rodgers and Jets have daunting season-on-the-line game against Colts

Many have already argued that the New York Jets 2024 NFL season is over. But Aaron Rodgers is defiant as he believes mathematically, they still have a chance of making the Wild Card round. Mathematically they could, but only if they win their next game against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

The game is at home and will have their 82,000 strong fans to cheer them to victory. But everyone knows that if they lose to the Colts, their season will be officially over. The Colts though are a confusing bunch. In their first seven games, they stood with a 4-3 record. Then after losing to the Texans, starting QB Anthony Richardson was benched after his bizarre substitution.

The next two games saw Joe Flacco throw more interceptions than touchdowns as they lost both. Now, they have decided to reinstate Anthony Richardson as they look towards helping him develop for the future. But this is not a straightforward situation for the Jets. With Richardson on the field, the Colts will look to tire out the Jets defense.

That could become detrimental if Rodgers and his struggling offense are forced to take risks to score. With that will come the increased chances of being intercepted. If those things do happen, expect Rodgers to set his sights on next season’s Super Bowl.
