AC Milan complete signing of Mario Mandzukic after striker was available on a free transfer since the previous transfer window
The Croatian striker was available to be signed by any club since he was a free agent since the start of the 2020/21 season. He had left Juventus for the 19/20 season as he had fallen out of favour with Maurizio Sarri and had left to Qatar. He played a season with Al-Duhail and left the club this season, meaning that he was a free agent for most of this year.
A prolific goal scorer with a decorated history of trophies
The experienced Croatian striker has played a total of 497 matches across clubs like Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg. He has scored 197 career goals and registered 84 assists and these figures are not bad by any means for a player who has played across the front line and has even dropped to second striker. He has represented Juventus the most times with 162 appearances for them and scoring 44 times and registering 17 assists in the same time.
AC Milan have added to their firepower as 34 year old Mario Mandzukic will join 39 year old Zlatan Ibrahimovic to bring in the goals. The Rossoneri sit at the top of the table having lost only once in 17 games and having a three point lead over their near rivals Inter Milan. Mario Mandzukic’s addition gives more experience to their young attack that is comprised of Brahim Diaz, Ante Rebic, Rafael Leao and Daniel Maldini along with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
