The Intercontinental title will be on the line this week on Raw. As announced by Raw General Manager Adam Pearce on X, Sami Zayn will defend the gold against Ilja Dragunov. It would mark their first meeting on the main roster. Zayn’s head has been on a swivel ever since dethroning Gunther at WrestleMania XL. Initially, it was Chad Gable who pushed the former Honorary Uce to his limits.

And for the past few weeks, Bron Breakker has made it personal with the champion. The two collided at last weekend’s Money in the Bank PLE in Toronto. Everyone thought that it would be a cakewalk for the Steiner descendant. However, Sami Zayn managed to outmaneuver The Unpredictable Bada*s right towards the business end of that tussle. A Helluva kick on the money was all Sami needed to combat the menace of Breakker.

This past Monday on Raw, Bron interrupted Zayn midway through his promo. Just when it appeared like the former NXT Champion was there to address the matter rather verbally, he turned around and speared the shoe out of Zayn’s foot. The assault didn’t stop until WWE officials ran in and escorted Bron out of the ring. But the latter wasn’t done just yet. He tricked the security personnel and Adam Pearce as well to sprint across the ring and eventually spear Zayn once again.

Just then, Ilja Dragunov also made his way out and was willing to unleash himself on the former Wolf Dogs member. Later on in the night, Dragunov and Breakker went one-on-one. The Mad Dragon scored a victory via disqualification when Bron threw a chair into his face at ringside. It doesn’t seem to be over, and a triple-threat match for the IC title looks to be the move for SummerSlam.

What else has been confirmed for Raw this week?

There’s a lot to look forward to on this week’s Raw. Kicking off the show will be Rhea Ripley. On the back of an astounding return last week, Mami would be willing to seek answers from Dominik Mysterio.

Dom’s been in cahoots with the reigning Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan ever since Ripley vacated the strap and went away. Apart from that, Drew McIntyre will also be back from suspension. The fans might find out whether he’ll face CM Punk at SummerSlam or not.

A singles match between Sheamus and Bronson Reed has also been made official. Damian Priest and Gunther will meet face-to-face as well. In a nutshell, the upcoming edition of Monday Night Raw is shaping up to be a can’t-miss one.
