Khamzat Chimaev has become a massive name in the UFC due to his dominant performances and fearless fighting style. Now the top middleweight contender is set to face Dricus Du Plessis in a blockbuster title bout at UFC 319 at the United Center in Chicago on August 16. Given his rising popularity, major media outlets and internet personalities are eager to secure interviews with the undefeated star.

Popular streamer Adin Ross revealed that Chimaev’s team demanded a massive $700K just for a single interview appearance. For the unversed, Ross is a massively popular streamer known for his viral content and huge presence across various social media platforms. He maintains close contact with influential figures, including UFC president Dana White and U.S. President Donald Trump. Ross has also streamed with top UFC stars, including former lightweight champion Islam Makhachev, gaining massive views and engagement.

Ross revealed on stream that the former lightweight title holder didn’t ask for money and also shared plans to visit Dagestan soon. The involvement of influencers like Ross in UFC has sparked criticism from sports purists questioning the sport’s authenticity. However, it remains to be seen if Ross and Chimaev can clear up the recent misunderstanding and move forward.

Khamzat Chimaev’s training partner reveals the latest details from the training camp

During the course of his UFC career, Khamzat Chimaev has frequently fallen sick, forcing him to pull out of several highly anticipated outings in recent years. Opponents like Dricus Du Plessis have often mocked Chimaev, claiming he only stays healthy when it’s not fight night. Many experts and trainers have suggested that Chimaev’s recurring health issues stem from excessive overtraining and extreme weight cuts.

However, since the birth of his son, Chimaev has shown a noticeably calmer and more composed version of himself publicly. Despite this new calmness, the ‘Borz’ still possesses the same intense hunger and desire to dominate and win the belt. This was very evident when he beat Robert Whittaker at UFC 308 in under 1 round.

Similar to his personal life, Chimaev has also made much-needed changes in his team and training camp. According to Arman Tsarukyan, who is training with ‘Borz’ at the moment for UFC 319, new developments in the Chechen’s training camp could be beneficial for his upcoming title fight.

Khamzat’s never at 100% on fight night because he constantly overtrains. After sparring, he always goes to work the bag, lift weights, etc. He’s one of those guys you have to tell when it’s time to stop. He’s now being tested daily to monitor his recovery. They have devices that show his recovery status every day, and if he’s in a slump, they help pull him out of it… We need a guy who will control this 24/7 and stop him at the right moment so he won’t overtrain.

Tsarukyan strongly believes that ‘Borz’ has all the tools to become the next champion. Heading into UFC 319, Chimaev has surprisingly become the fan favourite over Du Plessis, leaving many fans completely shocked. Despite doubts, fans are eager to see if Chimaev can dominate DDP like his previous opponents.
