53-year-old AEW star sends one-word response to possibility of appearing in WWE this year

Several AEW stars have recently made surprise moves to WWE, including Cody Rhodes, Jade Cargill, Lexis King, and the recent arrival of Shawn Spears. Now, another AEW legend seems to hint at a possible move, and it’s none other than WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam.

Recently a fan asked Rob Van Dam on social media platform X if he would make an appearance for WWE in 2024, to which RVD responded with one word, “Sure.” This answer caused excitement among fans and hinted at a possible return of the legendary wrestler to the WWE stage.

Rob Van Dam debuted in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in August 2023. The following week he challenged Jack Perry for the FTW championship but failed. The WWE Hall of Famer teamed up with Hook for a few tag matches.

In late January, RVD returned to AEW for a decent match against Swerve Strickland but lost. On a recent episode of Dynamite, Van Dam teamed up with Hook and “Hangman” Adam Page against AEW World Champion Samoa Joe and the Mogul Embassy member Swerve and Brian Cage.

At AEW Revolution, Will Ospreay had his first match after signing with the AEW, delivering an impressive performance. The event also marked the retirement of Sting. On an episode of his “1 Of A Kind” podcast RVD shared his views on the impact of Ospreay in AEW. Van Dam believes that he and the Aerial Assassin are innovators in the wrestling world, each displaying unique styles and moves that have influenced the wrestling landscape. He sees the potential clash between them as a clash of pioneers from different eras.
