Many wrestling fans around the world consider Kenny Omega to be one of the greatest wrestlers of the modern era. Despite his tremendous in-ring work, fans have, however, criticized his poor promo skills. Omega didn’t hold back and gave a befitting reply to those who had questioned him during a Twitch stream.
The Belt Collector has been making use of his recovery phase by playing some video games on his Twitch channel. Upon reading the hate and troll comments from several fans about his bad promo skills, he reminded many why he was still one of the best in the wrestling business.
Kenny Omega schooled the critics by claiming that he doesn’t consider himself the best storyteller, but he is still good enough to tell any story to fans in an effective way. He stated that it doesn’t mean he is bad at promos just because he doesn’t have a yelling voice. The Cleaner further admitted that his comparison with The Rock was outrageous, as he considers him levels above.
You’re trying to tell a guy who sold out 45,000 seaters with my story telling.. you’re trying to tell me that I don’t know how to tell stories? Because I don’t have a yelling promo voice? Then you’re going to say ‘yeah well The Rock sold more’ yeah he f*cking did, he’s The God Damn Rock. But I’m not f*cking bad myself!Kenny Omega via Twitch stream
Despite not being associated with WWE, the 40-year-old made a name for himself by wrestling in other promotions such as NJPW and AEW. He has had many five-star matches in his career and has won multiple championships as well. Even though he still has a long way to go, he has already fixed his place in wrestling fans’ hearts.
Latest update on Kenny Omega’s health issues
AEW’s top star Kenny Omega is currently out of action due to diverticulitis, and according to reports, his illness was near life-threatening. It is still not clear when he will return to the squared circle again. Now, Dave Meltzer has come up with a new update regarding his status and recovery.
On the latest edition of WOR, Meltzer talked about Omega getting surgery done on his intestines. He stated that the 40-year-old decided to have surgery after two different doctors suggested the same to him. The Cleaner wrestled in his last match back in December, when he defeated Ethan Page on AEW Collision.
He said surgery is becoming more and more likely as two different doctors have told him they think it’s the best option. If he wants to get into condition to resume his career that he will probably have to get rid of the perforated sections of his intestine and colon.Dave Meltzer via WOR
Whenever he returns, fans expect him to feud with Kazuchika Okada and The Young Bucks straightaway. Okada and Omega have had some of the best pro wrestling matches of all time, and fans won’t mind seeing these two tear the house down again.
