The latest episode of Raw had some unexpected visitors present where the event was held, in the PNC arena. AEW superstar, Matt Hardy and his wife Reby Hardy visited the arena, and veteran commentator, Michael Cole even mentioned him regarding the matchup with his brother Jeff Hardy at WrestleMania 25.

Reby Hardy took to X and acknowledged the mention by Michale Cole with a funny tiktok. However, an interesting fact to know about Matt Hardy is that his AEW contract is about to expire at the end of this month. Suddenly, Cole’s unexpected mention of Matt sparks a lot of rumors about his return to WWE.

The 49-year-old star last wrestled on January 5 with his brother, Jeff Hardy, and Mark Briscoe in a tag team match on an episode of AEW Rampage. Even though he joined AEW in 2020, his in-ring time has been limited due to the horrific injuries he suffered.

As per reports, the Jacksonville-based company has already approached the veteran regarding the new contract. However, nobody has any further idea if the deal has been reached. The upcoming few weeks will be interesting, as fans expect the Hardy Boyz to make their emphatic returns to WWE again.

Will the Hardy Boyz pull off another iconic WrestleMania return?

The Hardy Boyz have been a part of AEW for quite a while now. WWE released Jeff in late December 2021, during his second run, which lasted 4 years. However, their return at WrestleMania 33 was more iconic than their release.

Now, amidst the news of the expiring contracts of both and WrestleMania being very near, fans can’t help but think about their return. They made their iconic return in 2017 when The New Day announced them as the fourth team in a tag team match. The Hardy Boyz made an instant impact and won the prestigious titles. 

Seven years later, the story is pretty similar, with six tag teams battling in a six-pack ladder match at WrestleMania 40. It is still unclear which two teams will join the already qualified tag teams in the match. Amidst all the rumors, fans can certainly think about The Hardy Boyz being the surprise tag team once again. it will be interesting to see what transpires at the Show of Shows.
