At AEW Revolution, the legendary 40-year career of Sting will come to an end. Ahead of this Sunday’s pay-per-view, The Icon made his final appearance on Dynamite and did so in grand fashion. Stinger took a trip down memory lane as he arrived from the shafters for perhaps one last time. In the final segment of tonight’s episode of Dynamite, The Young Bucks attacked Sting’s tag team partner, Darby Allin.
Moreover, Matthew and Nicholas Jackson used his signature weapon, baseball bats, to lay out Allin. Later, Ric Flair came out to seemingly help the EVPs; however, it was all a ruse to attack them. As a result, the brothers fought back and viciously assaulted the 75-year-old. And then Stinger’s music hit, and The Icon made his legendary entrance to help his friends.

Sting brought his own baseball bat with him, using it to neutralize The Young Bucks. Therefore, the Hall of Famer, along with Allin and Flair, stood tall going into Revolution. As expected, the fans in the Propst Arena went berserk as they saw Stinger emerge from the shafters. The legendary entrance was an important part of The Vigilante’s career during his WCW career.
The Icon would descend to the ring in a similar way to attack his rivals, the New World Order (NWO). Therefore, wrestling fans were ecstatic to see Sting’s entrance at Dynamite ahead of his retirement match. Stinger will team up with protege, Darby Allin, and defend their Tag Team Championships against The Young Bucks, which will probably be the main event of the night.
Tony Khan heaps praise on Sting ahead of retirement match at Revolution
On December 2, 2020, Sting arrived in All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Since then, The Franchise has been an integral part of the promotion, working side-by-side with his protege, Darby Allin. After a prolific 40-year career, he decided to hang up his boots and compete for one last time at Revolution. Without a doubt, this wouldn’t have been possible without AEW owner, Tony Khan. Recently, he expressed his opinion on Stinger’s career.

In an interview with Fanatics View, Khan spoke in detail about Sting and his legendary career. The billionaire praised The Icon’s selflessness, expressing how he has to remind him of his stature sometimes. He further addressed how he will miss the 64-year-old once he retires this Sunday.

Heโs one of the most selfless people and I find that I have to push him sometimes and have to remind him, โYouโre Sting, itโs all about you!โ So, I do feel that this run of Sting being undefeated and what heโs done here in AEW is very special. Iโm sad that itโs coming to an end.Tony Khan on Sting’s career (H/T: eWrestlingNews)
Khan claimed that he has done his best to ensure a proper send-off for Sting, trying to make it a memorable night for him at Revolution. Needless to say, it will be an emotional night on Sunday for the wrestling community as The Vigilante prepares for his last ever match.
