Adam Copeland, better known as Edge, has arrived at All Elite Wrestling (AEW). The wrestling veteran debuted after the main event of WrestleDream, confronting his real-life best friend, Christian Cage. During the media scrum, AEW owner Tony Khan confirmed that the Rated-R superstar will be wrestling full-time for the promotion.
Since his return to professional wrestling in 2020, Edge has worked a part-time schedule with the WWE. Therefore, this will mark the first time that the 49-year-old appears weekly after more than a decade. This is arguably one of AEW’s biggest signings in its four-year history. Therefore, fans will be interested to see how the new “era” in the Jacksonville-based promotion plays out.
Tony Khan said, “This is full-time. Adam’s going to be with us every week. He’s gonna wrestle, he’s a full-time part of the AEW roster. I think it’s going to be a long time since anybody has seen Adam Copeland wrestle as much as the level he’s going to be at AEW.” Afterward, he revealed that Edge will appear at the four-year anniversary of Dynamite and on Saturday’s Collision.
The WWE Hall of Famer will seemingly address Christian Cage’s attitude over the past year or so. As many might know, the legendary tag team was last seen together in the ring at the Royal Rumble in 2021. Moreover, Edge may team up with the Icon, Sting, and Darby Allin after their interaction last night in the foreseeable future.
MJF addresses his thoughts about new AEW signing, Adam Copeland
AEW World Champion MJF is seemingly unhappy with Edge’s arrival in AEW. Earlier in the night, Max successfully defended the ROH Tag Team Championships in a handic*p bout against The Righteous. The Devil revealed what he felt about the wrestling veteran signing for the promotion during the WrestleDream media scrum.
According to the 26-year-old, Edge is another wrestler trying to steal the top position in AEW away from him. “I think he’s another guy that’s coming into my company that wants my spot, and he’s got another thing [sic] coming if he thinks he’s gonna take it.” MJF said.
Previously, he has mentioned his dislike for Tony Khan for signing former WWE superstars on bigger contracts. After his comments tonight, fans will most likely witness a dream feud between Adam and MJF in the foreseeable future.
