Mercedes Mone is one of the most accomplished female superstars in wrestling. There had been a lot of speculation about her return for months. Fans were curious to know which company she would join after recovering from an injury. Finally, Mone has made a decision.
Mercedes Mone made her debut at AEW at the Big Business event in front of her home crowd in Boston, Massachusetts. The CEO was overwhelmed when she addressed the crowd and thanked them for always supporting her at every moment. She stated that the reason for her joining AEW was because she wanted to globalize the evolution around the world.
The 32-year-old also mentioned her wrestling idol, Eddie Guerrero, and said he was the reason she started wrestling. However, Mone wasn’t there to just express her gratitude; she was there to take care of unfinished business. The CEO directly called out Willow Nightingale, who defeated her in the finals of the tournament to crown the first-ever Strong Women’s Champion.
Mone suffered an ankle injury in that match against Nightingale and has been out since then. Now that she has finally arrived at the Jacksonville-based company, fans are excited to see her go against some of the top stars.
WWE superstar Bayley spotted in attendance for Mercedes Mone’s AEW debut
The CEO, Mercedes Mone, made her debut at AEW Big Business, which caused quite a ruckus among the audience present. However, it wasn’t only fans cheering for her; WWE superstar Bayley was also spotted in the arena.
It was surprising to see Bayley, who just won the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble, attend an AEW event to support her friend. They have had each other’s back ever since being a part of the Four Horsewomen. They also fought in the very first women’s 30-minute Iron Man match in WWE history.
Nowadays, wrestlers have more freedom to attend rival shows under Triple H’s regime. It will be interesting to see whether fans witness a time when both companies come together and host a ‘forbidden door’ event. The wrestling world will unite to see the matches between some of the best superstars in both companies.
