Top AEW Wrestler Adam Cole has been missing from Dynamite for 5 months, and a concerning update has come regarding the injury he suffered at AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door. Cole reportedly suffered a torn labrum and concussion while battling in a Fatal 4-Way match against Jay White, “Hangman” Adam Page, and Kazuchika Okada.
According to a latest report published on The Wrestling Observer’s Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has reflected on the injury and said many people are concerned over Adam Cole’s in-ring future. However, he didn’t reveal what these concerns exactly were.
Concussions can be fatal as there’s a risk of permanent brain damage if it’s a severe concussion. And Adam Cole has suffered exactly that. Hence, rehab and medication are key to a full recovery. If not, it could turn into a career-threatening injury and AEW wouldn’t want to lose out on a huge star like Adam Cole to an injury.
The promotion is already facing a crisis as multiple stars are out of action because of injuries. This includes the likes of Kyle O’Reilly, “Hangman” Adam Page, Christian Cage, Thunder Rosa, and more.
However, despite the concerns, it seems like Adam Cole is doing fine as the winner of The Owen Hart Tournament has lately been active on social media, especially his Twitch streams. A recent reunion between “Da Party” (streaming group comprising Cole, Claudio Castagnoli fka Cesaro, Xavier Woods, and Tyler Breeze) is announced, and the group will stream on Twitch on Sunday, November 20th.

Cole former’s stablemate reflected upon his severe concussion during a recent interviewed. He stressed how gruesome the wrestling business is, and it is important for every wrestler to take adequate breaks from time to time.
In an interview with Ten Count’s Steve Fall, Fish said that wrestling is the only sport where they don’t have any off-season.
Notably, Adam Cole decided not to go for surgery after he suffered a torn labrum and was undergoing therapy. Fish also said that above all, wrestlers are also human beings, and they, too, need time to recover.

In the same interview, Fish said, I just think the appetite that the wrestling audience has to know everything, it just gets bizarre sometimes. I mean, sometimes like, you know, people need to be human beings because at the end, none of us are performers 24/7. So, yeah, when .people need to go away, give them their space. Give them some time. You know, they’ll be back.” (H/T- Wrestling News) Though Bobby Fish’s comments give a positive update regarding Adam Cole’s injury, we’ll still have to wait when he exactly makes his return.
Bobby Fish is confident the former NXT Champion will make a 100% recovery despite several reports stressing upon the fear of seeing the end of Adam Cole’s wrestling career.
