Though AEW has signed numerous WWE names over the past, the latest one is gaining quite a bit of attention. The general consensus is not positive for a change. That being said, two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has inked a multi-year agreement with Tony Khan‘s promotion. It comes on the heels of Flair’s last week’s appearance on Dynamite.

The Nature Boy was introduced as Tony Khan’s surprise gift to ‘The Icon’ Sting. The latter is slated to hang up his boots for good at next year’s AEW Revolution pay-per-view. Flair and Sting have had some history in this business. In that sense, the WCW legend couldn’t have asked for a better thing than Flair. In an official press release, AEW has also announced Flair’s Wooooo Energy as the official energy drink of their company.

The sparkling mushroom elixir will now be featured on promotional material whenever required. Ric Flair’s AEW signing hasn’t garnered the act of jubilation from most of the fans. The common cry voices the concern that AEW is showing more favor to aged veterans than their own talent. Back in the day, fans used to appreciate Tony Khan’s effort to present counter-programming to WWE. However, it has fallen off drastically.

By the looks, it appears like Ric Flair will be involved in Sting’s retirement angle in some capacity. Now, although it’s something unimaginable at this point, what if Ric’s AEW jump prompts his daughter Charlotte Flair to consider the same route somewhere down the road? It may seem unreal at this point, but so was the case of Adam “Edge” Copeland until the moment he showed up at WrestleDream.

Ric Flair is dying to face MJF to pop ratings for AEW

Just hours after becoming a member of AEW’s roster, Ric Flair has already set his sights on gold. Although it would be a ridiculous idea for him to wrestle once again, Flair is a different breed and has always been. In an interview with Variety, The Dirtiest Player in the Game discussed a potential clash with MJF.

He said he’s dying to go face-to-face with the AEW World Champion, and it would pop a rating too. He also revealed that AEW probably won’t let him wrestle again, but it’s something he’d love to do. It’s almost certain that the WWE legend will get into numerous confrontations with some of AEW’s top stars, given that he’s signed a full-blown contract with the promotion.
