“All Ego” Ethan Page has deactivated his X account. This shocking turn of events came about right after he suffered yet another defeat during an NXT house show on Saturday. Last week, it was Nia Jax, who deactivated her social media account following criticism of her performance from fans. While Jax’s reason might’ve been personal, it looks as if Page’s is storyline-related.

Since losing the NXT Championship at the CW debut show in Chicago, Page has not had the greatest of times. The 35-year-old star has lost every major championship opportunity, which has now transcended into a losing streak. At NXT: Deadline, Page participated in the Men’s Iron Survivor match. However, he lost in humiliating fashion after Oba Femi returned to pick up a dominant win.

On the following NXT episode, Tony D’Angelo offered a dejected Page a North American Championship match. After initially declining, Page subsequently accepted the challenge. Once again, Page lost to D’Angelo, adding to his string of losses.

Nonetheless, this has opened up a conversation regarding wrestlers’ mental health and fan trolling online. At Survivor Series, the Women’s WarGames match failed to meet fan expectations. The bout was filled with several botches and sloppy work, which led to online backlash on social media.

Out of all of the participants, it was Nia Jax who bore most of the brunt from angry fans online. Although the WWE Women’s Champion responded to a few of the trolls, she ended up deactivating her X account days later.

Will Ethan Page soon move to the main roster?

Ethan Page arrived on NXT in late May, straightaway attacking then-NXT Champion Trick Williams. After setting his sights on the top prize of the developmental brand, Page shocked the world when he won the title at Heatwave in an enthralling fatal four-way match.

During his 86-day title reign, Page impressed fans with his solid in-ring skills and character work. Defeating the likes of Oru Mensah and TNA’s Joe Hendry, the former AEW wrestler, has shown he is more than ready for the main roster.

At the age of 35, Page won’t be staying much longer on NXT. In fact, the ongoing storyline might culminate in him joining a main roster brand amid the ongoing transfer window trade. After all, the SmackDown midcard division is in dire need of a new addition, and Page would fit in perfectly on the blue brand.
