At the Caledonian Stadium, Scotland, Inverness Caledonian Thistle had opted to go with an AI camera operator instead of a human operator due to Covid-19. A hilarious mishap ensued as the AI mistook the ground referees bald head as the ball and concentrated on it throughout the whole match. The head of the referee was glistening and the AI couldn’t differentiate between the ball and his head.

Inverness Caledonian played Ayr United at the Caledonian Stadium in Scotland. The former had a plan of broadcasting the match directly to the homes of season-ticket holders. However things didn’t go according to plan as the AI mistaked the linesman’s head for the ball. It concentrated on it for the whole match, denying the viewers most of the real action in the match.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw, but the talking point was the technological error. Twitterati had a blast and made relentless fun of this mishap. People called out this as an accident of 2020 and that when technology overtakes humans, mistakes like these will happen.

The camera company was forced to apologize for this error and promised to correct the mistake. They promised to not repeat this mistake again.
