AJ Lee‘s second match since plotting an earth-shattering return to WWE after a decade has been made official. As seen on this week’s SmackDown, Rhea Ripley revealed ‘The Crazy Chick’ as the fifth member of her team for the WarGames match at Survivor Series.

Also in the ring with Ripley were her other teammates, including her best friend Iyo Sky, Charlotte Flair, and Alexa Bliss. Just as Lee’s music played and she came out, the babyfaces were blindsided by their WarGames opponents, viz., Asuka, Kairi Sane, Nia Jax, and Lash Legend.

Lee showed some urgency and took a run down that aisle, but got taken out by Becky Lynch near the ringside. ‘The Man’, out of nowhere, tackled the ‘Black Widow’ to the floor.

Lynch obviously didn’t forget about Lee costing her the women’s IC title against Maxxine Dupri on Raw this past Monday. Back in the ring, Ripley tried mounting a fightback singlehandedly. ‘Mami’ had pretty much gotten back on her feet, and it appeared like her teammates would follow suit. However, Lynch grabbed one of Ripley’s legs, allowing Nia Jax to flatten ‘The Eradicator’ in the corner.

Jax then hit the Aussie grappler with the Annihilator. With Jax, Legend, and The Kabuki Warriors standing tall, Becky Lynch entered the ring and shook hands with them. ‘The Irish Lass Kicker’ completed the WarGames lineup for the villainous side, and the teams are now set.

WWE CCO Triple H later took to X and released a poster of that match by noting the WarGames debuts of whom he called a storied veteran, AJ Lee, and a breakout star in Lash Legend. ‘The Game’ also put emphasis on the fact that both teams are replete with multi-time world champions. It’d be interesting to see how an icon like Lee would fare inside the double-caged structure on November 29.

Are AJ Lee and Becky Lynch destined for a singles match down the line?

Becky Lynch has been a constant in AJ Lee‘s WWE comeback fairytale thus far. The former Intercontinental Champion’s scathing rants and unopposed assaults on CM Punk prompted ‘The Geek Goddess’ to do the unthinkable. Lee would join her husband to take on Lynch and Seth Rollins at Wrestlepalooza.

The match ended when Lee made Lynch tap out, which the latter disputed by calling out the referee over crooked officiating. ‘The Crazy Chick’ stepped away from WWE programming after that PLE and returned on Raw this week to dent Lynch once again. With the former Divas Champion clearly having the upper hand against a megastar of Lynch’s caliber, the latter needs to turn it around.

The upcoming WarGames match would be that opportunity for ‘Big Time Becks’ to get one up on Lee. It would do a ton of good to Lynch’s morale if she manages to pin or submit Lee in the end. But what would it achieve? It’s inevitable that AJ Lee will get back to singles competition sooner or later. Not letting her wrestle in one-on-one matches right off the bat has been a smart move on WWE’s part.

The company had clearly entrusted ‘The Man’ with assisting the New Jersey native regain her ring timing after being away from the business for over a decade. Lee proved in that mixed tag team affair at Wrestlepalooza that she can still go at the highest level.

The ongoing differences between Lee and Lynch might very well end up culminating in The Crazy Chick’s first singles match in WWE since 2014.

Now, if that’s actually the plan, it’d be worth keeping an eye on when they eventually get the chance to duke it out. Will WWE wait until WrestleMania 42? That would be a bold move and might need a really intriguing story to keep the fans invested in seeing those women mixing it up at The Grandest Stage of Them All.
