On Thursday, the Florida Panthers not only lost a game against the Ottawa Senators but also their captain Aleksander Barkov. Barkov, often known by ‘Sasha’ clashed right into the boards as he was chasing Sens center Tim Stutzle.

The incident took place during the third period at the Canadian Tire Center where the Senators eventually wrapped up the game with a 3-1 victory. The Panthers were justly worried for their captain as he did not return to the game afterward.

Aleksander Barkov was seen carried away by two of his teammates following the horribly scary collision. There has not been any update following his walk off to the locker room. Manager Paul Maurice said they’ll look into the progress and provide further updates on Barkov’s situation.

Everyone is hoping that his injury was not serious and that the captain will rejoin soon. He’s been a phenomenal figure for the team over the years he’s been playing with them; especially winning the Stanley Cup in 2024.

The Panthers will need their captain on the lineup soon, as they are again planning to compete and win the Stanley Cup for the second time. While they are the current Cup holders, many believe the Ottawa Senators may also be the victors in 2025 with new additions and strategies to the team.
