Alex Oxlade Chamberlain is nearing full match fitness for Liverpool as he was spotted in Kirkby. He did some high intensity in the new gym in Kirkby and was confirmed to have been doing training in the ground also. This will be welcome news for Liverpool and its fans the Ox is a very good player to have.

Fans are waiting for his imminent arrival

The Liverpool fans will fondly remember his performances against Manchester City and Atletico Madrid. His performance against Atletico Madrid is to be particularly applauded as he and Mohamed Salah combined to terrorise Renan Lodi.

The Portsmouth born player was signed from Arsenal for a fee of £35 million before the 2017/18 season. He was becoming a highly influential player, when an injury ended his season. He missed most of the 2018/19 season and only played bit parts in two matches. In the 2019/20 season he played 30 times in the Premier League and scored 4 goals and got an assist. In the same season in the Champions League he played five times and scored three goals.

Another injury struck him in the 2020/21 pre-season and he has been sidelined till now. Photos have been released by Liverpool which shows the dynamic midfielder training with intensity. As soon as he is match fit, he will however face tough competition. Georginio Wijnaldum, Thiago Alcantara, Curtis Jones, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita and James Milner all fight for three spots in the Liverpool midfield. Nevertheless, the season is long and the matches come flying so we can get to see some action from the Ox this season.
