Alex Pereira and Magomed Ankalaev are officially set to clash at UFC 313, taking place inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. This highly anticipated matchup has been in the works for quite some time, with fans eagerly awaiting its confirmation. Now, with a final date locked in, the rivalry is beginning to intensify, setting the stage for an electrifying showdown.
The fight was announced last weekend at UFC 311, where Pereira attended to watch the event. The Brazilian superstar seemed to enjoy the night, witnessing the clash between Jiri Prochazka and Jamahal Hill—both of whom he had defeated. The announcement also gave Ankalaev a chance to take a fresh shot at Pereira, mocking ‘Poatan’ for his past drinking habits.
Magomed Ankalaev has been calling out Pereira for a long time now. According to the Russian, the light heavyweight champion isn’t as invincible as others portray him. The fighter believes he has the tools and skillset to stop this reign and become the new champion.

Pereira is known for his incredible striking and dominant display of knockout power. However, the UFC superstar has yet to be tested against a wrestler, who can take the fight to the ground. Being from Russia, Ankalaev does have a wrestling pedigree, but, the question is will that be enough?
Former rival doesn’t think Alex Pereira can be beaten by Magomed Ankalaev
Alex Pereira‘s rise to the top of UFC is something that has never been seen. The Brazilian fighter not only captured the middleweight title, but also moved up and won the light heavyweight title with ease. Last year, Pereira fought three times and won all the bouts via knockout.
At UFC 300, he knocked out Jamahal Hill and then stopped Jiri Prochazka three months later. At UFC 307, he came against Khalil Rountree, who actually gave him the toughest challenge in a long time. However, it wasn’t enough and Rountree lost in the fourth round via TKO. In an interview, the American fighter talked about what it’s like to go against Pereira.
Pereira is a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and has often talked about having good wrestling. However, nobody has ever tested it. With Magomed Ankalaev there is s chance, but, it will depend on the fighter’s approach against the champion.
