In the current UFC light heavyweight division, several fighters have had some ongoing back-and-forths. Jamahal Hill, Jiri Prochazka, and Magomed Ankalaev were some of the notable names on the list. However, this time even the UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira has joined in to have his fun. As such, ‘Poatan’ took his first dig at ‘Sweet Dreams’.
According to reports, Jamahal Hill is currently scheduled to face Jiri Prochazka at UFC 311 in January 2025. Recently, Hill uploaded a video on his YouTube channel criticizing other light heavyweight contenders. In the video, he pointed out how he performed better than the other 205-pound contenders in their title opportunity fights. Hours later, Alex Pereira wrote a message to Hill through a social media post.
Hill impressively seized his first title opportunity when he fought Glover Teixeira at UFC 283. However, shortly thereafter, Sweet Dreams had to vacate his title. A year later, he received another chance to compete for the title, facing Pereira at UFC 300.
Unfortunately, unlike his previous success, Hill struggled significantly against the Brazilian fighter, resulting in the second defeat of his UFC career. Due to Hill’s poor performance at UFC 300, Pereira believes he needs to re-establish his worth by first passing the Prochazka test.
Calm down, my son. Pass this test and Dad will give you a second chance.

After his victory over Khalil Rountree at UFC 307, Pereira is reportedly set to face Magomed Ankalaev next for the light heavyweight title. The Brazilian might give Hill another chance at the title if both fighters win their upcoming matches. However, Pereira’s recent post gained significant attention and even reached Hill, who responded with a sharp critique.
Jamahal Hill claps back at Alex Pereira with a scathing reply
Alex Pereira is undoubtedly one of the rising superstars in the UFC. At 37 years old, the Brazilian fighter has caught the attention of the entire roster. Beyond his title contenders, even notable fighters like Jon Jones are keen to face him in the octagon. However, Pereira remains unfazed and is currently enjoying his time away from the fight scene after the brutal showdown at UFC 307.
However, the recent developments in and around his division couldn’t keep him quiet for long. As a result, Pereira made those comments about Jamahal Hill. However, Sweet Dreams, who also boasts an impressive record in the promotion didn’t hold himself back. As such, Hill gave an unhinged reply to the UFC light heavyweight champion, levying accusations of cheating in their UFC 300 fight.
Beat it funny how you rushed lil ass roundtree and dumbass Jiri like you were the man but waited until the refs got in the way to swing at me!!! You will see me again at 100% soon and we both know the fear that was in your heart!! https://t.co/ARC4XQyNQq

According to Hill, Pereira took advantage of a moment during a timeout in the fight at UFC 300 and knocked him out. This controversial incident sparked discussions among several prominent figures in the fighting community. While many praised Pereira, others critiqued Hill. In response to the criticisms, Sweet Dreams vowed to dismantle Poatan in a rematch if it happens.
