Alexander Bublik is known for his fiery temper on the court as frustration makes him smash his racket, a scene that tennis fans often see when he’s playing. Bublik once again went into a rage during his match on Wednesday (October 30) at the Paris Masters.
After beating Fabio Fognini in the first round, Bublik locked horns with Holger Rune in the second round and lost by a scoreline of 6-4, 6-2. During that time, he destroyed his racket, gave it to a fan inside Court 1, and chatted with a few spectators courtside.
Bublik later told Prakash Amtritraj that he often expresses his frustrations in court and that he is an emotional person.
Amtritraj then asked Bublik when was the last time he cried. After thinking for a few seconds, the Kazakh revealed that he got emotional when his two-year-old son Vasily told him he loved him.
Bublik also said his son’s birthday always makes him cry. He revealed how he and his coach also cried during New Year ‘for no reason’.
Alexander Bublik takes a cheeky dig at Jannik Sinner
After pocketing $6 million from the Six Kings Slam, Jannik Sinner declared that money was not a motivator behind his participation in the exhibition event in Riyadh. Sinner had defeated Carlos Alcaraz in the final after outclassing Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev in the semifinals and quarterfinals respectively.
Alcaraz, however, gave a different answer when asked about the prize money. He joked that the reason he played in the exhibition tournament was also to earn $6 million. When Prakash Amritraj asked Alexander Bublik about his earnings this season, the latter took a slight dig at Sinner.
After winning the Six Kings Slam, the World No. 1 withdrew from the Paris Masters due to an illness, while Alacarz went past Nicolas Jarry in the second round to set up a clash with Ugo Humbert.
