Alexander Hernandez vs Chris Gruetzemacher on Oct 31 has been confirmed
It’s been almost 30 months Chris Gruetzemacher last fought inside the octagon. Since then he has had to pull out of a number of fights due to injury. The Arizona based fighter will be looking to make a strong comeback, as a fight with Alexander Hernandez has been confirmed at UFC Fight Night on October 31.
The fight is scheduled to be held at UFC Apex in Las Vegas. He will be facing fellow American, Alexander Hernandez who most recently fought with Drew Dober at UFC Fight Night on May 13, 2020 and lost via TKO.
Gruetzemacher nicknamed ‘Gritz’ ,as most of his teammates and teachers couldn’t pronounce his last name, will be backing his skills and experience when he fights Hernandez. Whilst, Hernandez will be looking to shrug off his recent loss at UFC Fight Night.
Both the fighters are coming off a loss
The news that the fight is scheduled on October 31 was first broken by BJPenn.com, with other websites getting hold of the news soon after. The fight will mark Gruetzemacher’s return from a torn ACL that has resulted in the cancellation of his last two scheduled bouts with Dariush and Jesus Pinedo. It is to be noted that Gruetzemacher was a contestant on the 22nd season of The Ultimate Fighter and was eliminated by Artem Lobov.
On the other hand, Alexander Hernandez nicknamed “The Great” synonymous with Alexander The Great, gained popularity with a 42-second knockout of Beneil Dariush at UFC 222. Following a series of wins the lightweight broke into the top 15 and went on to face Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone which he eventually lost.
A lot can be expected of him as he has recently moved to Colorado to train at Factory X. He will be looking to get back to winning ways at the UFC event which is headlined by a middleweight bout between Anderson Silva and Uriah Hall.
