Alexander Volkanovski has the opportunity to get back his featherweight title at UFC 314. After Ilia Topuria‘s exit from the division, Volkanovski has now the opportunity to rule the division once again. Ahead of the fight, the former champion has already given a hint of what his title reign will look like in the future.
Volkanovski lost his title to Topuria last year, but was already considered a featherweight legend. However, the Aussie fighter is confident about taking his belt back in his scheduled fight against Diego Lopes. In a recent interview, the ‘Great’ expressed his intentions to stay as active as possible after becoming a two-time champion.
I wanna be active…When I get [the belt] back. When we doing the next one…Movsar, you ready? Let’s go. Couple of months after or whatever.

Movsar Evloev is one of the top contenders for the belt and some thought he deserved the shot more than Lopes. Nevertheless, Volkanovski has always been known for being extremely active and never shying away from new challenges. During his last tenure as the featherweight champion, he was fighting on a consistent basis.

His tendency to take minimal time between fights led to back-to-back losses against Islam Makhachev and Topuria. He has openly discussed struggling with mental health issues when not in training camp. This has made it intriguing to see how he will handle his second championship reign. However, before that, he must first get past Diego Lopes.
