He has been playing well since the end of last year. He has been improving and is much more consistent, especially on the right side, which was always an unstable shot for him. He is definitely a good player. Indian Wells is a tournament that many players struggle with and others love. Unfortunately, I have always been more on the side of those who struggle. He has grown and matured a lot, and he deserves to be a Master 1000 champion. He also deserves to be in the top 10, so it will be interesting to see how it unfolds. I’m happy for him and also for Holger, who has had a tough time in the last 18 months, so I’m glad things are going well for him too.

Alexander Zverev said in the post-match press conference

Rune was playing in his third Masters 1000 final. He previously won the BNP Paribas Masters in 2022, where he defeated Novak Djokovic in the final. On the other hand, Draper has made significant progress since 2024, when he reached his first Grand Slam semifinal at the US Open. However, he lost to Jannik Sinner in the semifinal.

Jack Draper moves ahead of Carlos Alcaraz in the ATP Race

Jannik Sinner is still leading the Race to the ATP Finals. The 2025 tournament in Turin will be the fifth time the event is held there. The top eight players of the season will qualify and compete for the biggest prize in tennis. Last year, Sinner won the event and took home a record $4,881,100.

Sinner is ranked No. 1 in the world and leads the Race with 2,000 points from his Australian Open win. That is the only event he has played in 2025 so far. He was banned for three months after failing two doping tests in March 2024. His suspension runs from February 9 to May 4.

Alexander Zverev is second in the Race, 435 points behind Sinner. He lost to the Italian in the Australian Open final. Since then, he has struggled to gain points. His performances have not been strong in recent tournaments.

Jack Draper won the Indian Wells Masters and moved up to third place. He is now only 35 points behind Zverev. Carlos Alcaraz, who won in Rotterdam and reached the semifinals in Indian Wells, is fourth. He trails Draper by 130 points.

Draper is one of only five British men to reach the ATP top 10 since 1973. A year ago, he was ranked outside the top 40. Now, he is the fourth-highest-ranked British man in history. He also became the second British player to win Indian Wells, following Cameron Norrie.

His ranking has improved quickly due to his success. He won his first two ATP titles in Stuttgart and Vienna in 2024. He also reached his first Grand Slam semi-final at the 2024 US Open. His Indian Wells title moved him from world No. 14 to No. 7.

Andy Murray remains Britainโ€™s most successful player. He is the only British player to reach world No. 1 in the Open Era. He won three Grand Slam titles and two Olympic gold medals. Murray also won 14 Masters 1000 titles and the 2016 ATP Finals.
