Aljamain Sterling lost his title to Sean O’Malley at UFC 292. Since then the former bantamweight champion made a move to the featherweight division. Now he will fight the top undefeated contender in the 145 lbs weight class. Here is what Sterling intends to do with Movsar Evloev:

Aljamain Sterling recently secured a win at Pit Submission Series 7. Later he did an interview with former UFC fighter, Michelle Waterson. During the discussion, Sterling made a callout to Movsar Evloev. ‘The Funk Master’ revealed that wants to take away Movsar Evloev’s undefeated status.

Movsar Evloev boasts a professional MMA record of 18 wins and 0 losses. His last fight was against Arnold Allen at UFC 297. The Russian has fought a total of eight fights in the promotion and interestingly, has won all of them by decision. Meanwhile, ‘The Funk Master’ has much more experience in the promotion, having made his promotional debut in 2014.

He made his featherweight debut at UFC 300 against Calvin Kattar. Sterling won that fight via unanimous decision. Now he occupies the #8 spot in the 145 lbs weight class. The two are projected to fight at UFC 307. It will take place later this year in October at the Delta Centre, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Aljamain Sterling recently made his debut in “The Pit” at the Pit Submission Series by Karate Combat. ‘The Funk Master’ showed off his grappling skills earning himself the moniker ‘The Human Backpack’. The former UFC bantamweight champion locked horns against Bellator MMA lightweight, Jay-Jay Wilson.

They headlined the main event of Pit Submission Series 7. Sterling walked away with the win in his debut fight. It was an intense fight, that ultimately went to the scorecards. ‘The Funk Master’ scored the winning points in the final seconds of overtime. Sterling secured the top mount position with about ten seconds left of the clock.

Thus, the former UFC champion secured Wilson’s back and scored the victory points. With Sterling coming off of a grappling win, it will be interesting to see how he fares against Movsar Evloev at UFC 307 who holds a Master of Sports rank in Greco-Roman wrestling.
