Aljamain Sterling is among the best fighters to have competed in the UFC’s bantamweight division. His accomplishments in the division are second to none. However, he has always got the short end of the straw multiple times. Sterling fought at UFC 300 and was the only fighter who did not get an octagon interview with Joe Rogan. Many famous people were at the event, like MMA fan Mark Zuckerberg.

The META CEO has been training in BJJ, Sterling’s forte, for quite some time. Nonetheless, Sterling had a dominant victory against Calvin Kattar at UFC 300 on his featherweight debut. The former bantamweight champion even had a moment where he appeared to do WWE-type move on Kattar. Interestingly, Zuckerberg might have felt impressed by Sterling’s performance as he gifted Meta Smart glasses to “The Funk Master.” Sterling showed off the glasses on his vacation.

Mark Zuckerberg and his wife have been regular attendees at UFC events. Once, he even booked the entire UFC Apex for him and his wife. Moreover, he has even trained with Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski. Adesanya and Volkanovski sided with Zuckerberg when rumors speculated an MMA fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk.

Interestingly, Merab Dvalishvili, a close friend of Aljamain Sterling, is also a close acquaintance of the META CEO. In Dvalishvili’s last fight against Henry Cejudo at UFC 298, Zuckerberg and the Georgian had a hilarious interaction. Further, Zuckerberg walked out with Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 298. When Ilia Topuria knocked out Volkanovski, Zuckerberg’s reaction went viral on social media. It is safe to say Zuckerberg’s interaction with UFC fighters will continue in the long run.

Aljamain Sterling impressed by Ryan Garcia

Aljamain Sterling is on vacation with his spouse, Rebecca Cruz. The vacation did not stop him from watching the highly anticipated boxing fight between Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney. Sterling actively commented about the fight, which many thought Haney would win. However, Garcia upset the odds as he scored knockdowns en route to a majority decision victory.

From Sterling’s tweets, it was evident that the UFC contender thought Haney would win. However, when Garcia won the fight, he called it a ‘poetic comedy’ and even found Garcia’s style very different from a typical boxer. Moreover, Sterling was happy that the judges scored the result for Garcia. Due to erroneous judging, which is common in boxing, a draw was always in the cards.

According to Sterling, the three knockdowns from Garcia and the boxer’s impressive showing in the latter rounds were the reasons for Garcia’s victory. As for Sterling, he has plans to upset the odds as well. He had already called out Brian Ortega and Movsar Evloev for a potential number-one contender fight. Due to Ortega and Evloev’s grappling-centric style, Sterling can put his peculiar grappling to the test.
