One team that surely took a fall in the 2021 season opener was Alpine. The team fought with Ferrari and McLaren in 2020, was seen lacking majorly behind the latter two teams. Now it comes to be known that Alpine has a bigger objective which the entire team is looking at.

Alpine’s A521 challenger hasn’t reached upto its best potential as FIA’s 2021 regulations forced team to carry the chassis from 2020. But it comes to be known that Alpine has surely got a plan to work upon, approaching the 2022 season.

Wholesome changes are set to be introduced next season, as part of the FIA’s plan to create a more breath-taking racing spectacle by trimming the gap between the teams. Hence, they plan to divert their attention and resources, like the other teams, on that.

Alpine’s Laurent Rossi claims to build the best ever car for 2022 season

Laurent Rossi, Newly-appointed CEO of Alpine, after it was rebranded from Renault proclaimed, “What we want to do is carry on building on what we’ve done. We know we’ve more or less reached the end of this car anyway. So [we will] extract as much as we can out of this car, use this to fine tune the operations’ organisation and in the meantime make sure we build the best ever car for the next regulation era.”

“The team in place now is a different set of people – not all of them – there’s tonnes of them that are very good but there’s a bit of change: Marcin came in, started to put his touch on the team; we hired a couple of high-profile engineers,” Rossi concluded.
