Amanda Anisimova responded to those who have been discussing her body and accusing her of using Ozempic after noticing a change in her physique. Anisimova made it clear that she is not on the weight-loss drug.
For the past few days, there have been discussions about her body due to the photos she shared following her training sessions. The 25-year-old took to her Instagram story and criticized the so-called “health experts” before deleting the post.
To all the health experts and professional body commentators in the comments, I’m not using Ozempic. Please leave me alone and out of your unique posts.

The 2026 season is a far cry from what Anisimova achieved in 2025, as last year she played five finals, including at Wimbledon and the US Open, losing them to Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka, respectively. She won titles in Doha and Beijing.

But this season, she has reached just one semifinal, let alone a final. Amid her dip in form, some fans targeted her body, saying she is “too fat” and needs to lose weight. Anisimova responded to the criticism with humor by posting pictures taken in a pool on her Instagram, writing, “How your comments find me,” as a caption.

Anisimova, who took a mental health break in 2023 and returned to the tour in 2024, admitted during this Wimbledon that she suffered from exhaustion, which is why after withdrawing from the Berlin Open due to injury, she went home to the United States to disconnect.
Although spending time with her family and friends helped her a lot, she felt guilty but eventually accepted that she is only human, and it was the best thing she did before returning to competition. Her run at SW19, however, ended in the third round with a three-set defeat to 2025 Australian Open champion Madison Keys.
Amanda Anisimova withdraws from the Singapore Open
Amanda Anisimova was last seen in action at the US Open, where Anastasia Potapova ended her run with a straight-set win in the third round. The only time Anisimova made a deep run in a Major this year was at the Australian Open, where she reached the quarterfinals and lost to Jessica Pegula. She lost in the third round of the remaining three Majors.

Following her home Slam, the two-time Grand Slam runner-up was scheduled to play the Singapore Open to kick off her campaign on the Asian swing. But she ended up pulling out of the tournament because of a left wrist injury. She was scheduled to play Australia’s Talia Gibson in the opening round. Following her withdrawal, lucky loser Viktoria Morvayova replaced her.
Anisimova’s name is on the entry list of the China Open, but her participation is now uncertain. She has yet to reach another final since winning this WTA 1000 event in Beijing last year by defeating reigning Wimbledon champion Linda Noskova.
So far in her career, Anisimova has lifted two WTA 1000 titles, last year’s Qatar Open and the China Open. Because of her slump in form, Anisimova, who reached her career-best ranking of No.3 earlier this year, has dropped out of the top 10 and currently sits in 11th place.
Players like Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, Coco Gauff, Pegula, and Iga Swiatek will next be seen in action in Beijing. Rybakina will compete as the first seed, as she dethroned Sabalenka from the No.1 ranking after winning her career’s first US Open title.
Gauff and Swiatek are former champions in Beijing, while Rybakina and Pegula are one-time semifinalists. The Belarusian ace is a three-time quarterfinalist. The China Open starts on September 30.
