Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova turned pro in the year 2005 and at twenty-nine today, she is a veteran on tour. The winner of 12 WTA trophies, Pavlyuchenkova has been ranked as high as No.13 in the world and her best performance in a Grand Slam has been reaching the Quarter Finals of all the four slams. She is currently ranked at No.41 in the world.

The Last two years has seen her lose form and her ranking plummet, but she put on a good show at the WTA Madrid Open. The Russian took down names like Madison Keys, Jennifer Brady and even Karolína Muchová en route to the Semi-finals of the event. In the end losing to Aryna Sabalenka 6-2 6-3.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova certainly has a sense of humor. In a recent incident of a tweet, where the tweet said that she and Kvitova were making an appearance in the Quarter-finals of the Madrid Open after ten years, she found that ok. She replied ’I don’t mind it’. This is a far cry from some of the other reactions that tennis stars give when faced with a little bit of criticism.

Pavlyuchenkova who is also popular on Instagram because of her modelesque looks had recently also talked about Muguruza. She said that she finds her behavior very difficult to understand. She stopped short of calling Muguruza a *itch but did say that she doesn’t understand her. 

Pavlyuchenkova said, “I don’t understand Muguruza’s behavior. I don’t think she is a bitch, but I don’t understand her: we were talking to each other pretty often, but then she stopped saying hi to me, she walks right by you and she doesn’t even look at you”
