The Carolina Panthers expected this season to be better than the abomination they faced last season. However, this season has not been any different as they stand at an identical record heading into Week 8. The situation has seen sophomore QB Bryce Young being benched for Andy Dalton but with not much difference.
With Andy Dalton leading the charge, the team was shocked when a phone call from an emergency responder reached their offices. It was about the veteran quarterback and his family, as they survived a major scare earlier.
The former Pro-Bowler was traveling in his car with his family and their dog in Charlotte when they met with an accident. Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports revealed via his X account the details that were available at the time.
Dalton is being evaluated by Panthers medical personnel, and the team has no further details at this time.

The fact that Carolina Panthers medical personnel are evaluating him suggests it is not as bad as initially feared. His family did not go to the hospital or need special assistance. Further details of the incident are still not available from authorities.
Panthers need Andy Dalton to stabilize team before handing back to Bryce Young
Head coach Dave Canales and his staff decided to flip the starting job to Andy Dalton after their No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young struggled in his opening two games. They saw something that suggested that the young quarterback needs to sit and learn from the veteran.
More importantly, Canales wanted to implement his vision for the team. That in itself is difficult when a quarterback is struggling on his own. They might have lost several games and looks like they will lose some more. But Dalton helps the team’s receivers improve in confidence.
Their upcoming three games until their bye week give them a real possibility of notching a few more wins. The Denver Broncos are unpredictable, but the New Orleans Saints and New York Giants are in a mess.
If they could get two wins out of those three, it would be a marginal improvement over last season. But even then, that could go a long way to instill confidence. They need to bring that confidence so as to develop the team. For that, they need Dalton to be healthy and ready for every game.
