Former World No. 1 Andy Roddick had a massive clash with tennis fans on X regarding the developments in Jannik Sinner‘s doping case. The Italian was not given a ban by tennis authorities after testing positive twice for a banned substance during Indian Wells.
Many former and current tennis players, along with tennis fans, have criticized Sinner and the ATP Tour for a lack of accountability. However, Roddick defended the current World No. 1 on his Served With Andy Roddick podcast on YouTube.
This has led to many fans directing their criticism toward Roddick. One of them is Pavvy G, a well-known Novak Djokovic fan. Pavvy G is an active X user, famous for his controversial takes on the tennis world.
No intimidation at all. Me asking you to prove something you say when you mention my name first isn’t intimidation. Simply asking you to prove your statement.Andy Roddick replied on X
Post the clip. Dont play victim. Just post the clip. Show us you’re telling the truth. Don’t start a new victimhood campaign. Just post the clip that you were referencing. Prove your truth,Andy Roddick wrote on X
Pavvy G has called for Sinner’s Australian Open title to be taken away after the doping scandal. However, Roddick dismissed this claim on his channel without directly mentioning Pavvy G, resulting in an angry argument between the American and the tennis fan.
Jannik Sinner’s doping scandal: What do we know so far?
Jannik Sinner has ended his professional relationship with physiotherapist Giacomo Naldi and fitness trainer Umberto Ferrara. This follows an investigation into Sinner’s positive test for a banned substance. Sinner tested positive for clostebol, a muscle-building steroid, twice in March. However, a tribunal cleared him of any wrongdoing, concluding that Naldi had accidentally contaminated him.

The investigation revealed that Naldi had used an over-the-counter spray on his own hand before treating Sinner. Ferrara provided the spray and unknowingly caused the contamination. After the ruling, Sinner shared that he felt relieved the investigation was over.
Despite testing positive, Sinner was allowed to continue playing after appealing his provisional suspension. Since then, he won tournaments in Halle and Cincinnati and became the world number one.
Some players were unhappy with how fast Sinner’s case was resolved, taking less than five months. Others, like Dan Evans, who received a year-long ban for testing positive for cocaine, said Sinner was fortunate that his case was handled so quickly.
