Andy Roddick admitted during his latest episode of the Served podcast that he found Corentin Moutet‘s expletive-laden interview at the Queen’s Club Championships hilarious. When the Frenchman dropped the first f-bomb, BBC interviewer Jenny Drummond asked him not to swear.

But Moutet didn’t listen, and to the amusement of some of the fans, he ended up swearing six more times. Because of this incident, he was slapped with a $40,000 fine by the ATP, which called his conduct “unsportsmanlike”. But Roddick found the whole thing pretty hilarious.

That was JW [Jon Wertheim]; he didn’t think the Moutet thing was funny. The Moutet thing was hilarious! I thought the Moutet thing was funny. I know JW didn’t; I feel for the reporter; that stinks. Also, it broke me when she was like, ‘Okay, please, no more bad language’, Moutet goes under his breath, ‘yeah, yeah, sorry’, and then he leans in and does it again!

The interview that Moutet gave was after his opening-round win over Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. He lost his second match to Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.

Moutet, to me, is not like Meddy [Daniil Medvedev], where I admit I have a bias where I think everything that Meddy does is funny, even when I know it’s wrong; I think it’s funny. Moutet, I don’t think he’s an all-time funny guy; I think he’s kind of a p— sometimes, maybe he might say the same thing.

After the Queen’s, Moutet participated in the Mallorca Championships. He suffered an opening-round defeat at the hands of Abedallah Shelbayh.

Moutet will next be competing at Wimbledon, the main draw of which starts on June 29. The 27-year-old has never made it past the fourth round of a Major, reaching the stage at the 2022 US Open and the 2024 French Open. At Wimbledon, Moutet has never made it past the second round.

Moutet has yet to clinch a singles title. He has played three finals, losing all, losing a title clash at the 2025 Almaty Open.

Andy Roddick on Serena Williams’ singles comeback

Andy Roddick, who also played mixed doubles with the 23-time Grand Slam singles champion, said he wouldn’t have played singles at Wimbledon if he had wanted to return to the tour after four years, and lauded Williams for her confidence.

I would have started in a future [tournament] in Branson, Missouri, next to a Chili’s at a public park, hoping no one saw me. Imagine being in Serena’s brain, where it’s like, ‘It’s going to be Wimbledon, I’m good enough, I can handle this, no problem.’ That’s levels of confidence that I didn’t have for 12 seconds of my existence in my entire life.

Andy Roddick said during his Served podcast

Williams played her first official match upon her return at the Queen’s Club Championships. She paired up with Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko. Although they won their first match, they were forced to withdraw from the second match because Mboko suffered an injury during her singles match.

The 44-year-old later competed at the Berlin Open alongside Karolina Muchova, but they lost their first match. Williams, at SW19, will also be playing doubles alongside her sister, Venus Williams.

The Williams sisters have won 14 Grand Slam doubles titles, last winning at the 2016 Wimbledon. Williams last lifted a Major singles title at the 2017 Australian Open by defeating her sister. But in her last Grand Slam final, at the 2019 US Open, she lost the title to Bianca Andreescu.
