Angel Reese‘s social media game is as good as her on court game. The Chicago Sky rookie might have slipped the Rookie of the Year title, but she does not slip her ‘Barbie’ personality. In a conversation with NBA star Dwyane Wade, Reese gave some insight on her internet persona and lifestyle.

Dwyane Wade sat down with Angel Reese on her podcast, Unapologetically Angel to chat WNBA and more. Speaking of the WNBA star’s take on her display of the Barbie personality, Wade asked her about the challenges of doing so.

Wade started off by asking her if she calls herself a ‘baddie,’ to which Reese replied:

The former Miami Heat star pointed out Reese’s rejection of the stereotypical image of a tough basketball player on her social media. Angel Reese gave a background of her childhood, giving credits to her grandmother who made sure she was tuned to her feminine traits.

On my social media, I’m not posting basketball, like I’m posting me in a cute outfit. I get criticism for that because I don’t post me working out.

Angel Reese explained

Angel Reese’s fast-paced stardom came with public criticism just as much at the same speed. Her rookie year in the WNBA was a consistent media attraction. Most of the times, Angel Reese had been pitied against fellow WNBA player, Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark. The media played a significant role in shaping the rivalry, leading the two to go head-to-head for the ROTY title, with Clark eventually taking it.

Angel Reese had a praise-worthy rookie season. The Sky player was undoubtedly a strong contender for the ROTY except her rookie campaign was cut-short due to her wrist injury. The fans await the 22-year-old to be back for the next season, especially considering Reese got firsthand feedback from Dwyane Wade.

Angel Reese has limits ‘wearing heels’

Angel Reese has kept her off court fashion game in par with her on court rebounds game. In a Sky vs. Fever match in Reese’s rookie season, the WNBA star arrived in time and in style. Reese was spotted arriving in a monochromatic grey shirt and skirt, paired with transparent heels.

Reese also carried a pair of shoes in her hand. Explaining, she gave the camera a good laugh saying she was going to ditch the heels as soon as possible. The WNBA reposted the video and wrote that even Barbie had time limits on wearing heels.

Subsequently, Reese ditched the heels but did not ditch the persona. The WNBA star went for a custom pair of Reebok Barbie heels instead. Angel Reese’s Reebok collection rolled out as her first official brand collaboration.
