“It’s embarrassing!” – Angel Reese missing easy shots in Sky loss leaves fans shaking their heads

WNBA rookie Angel Reese's scoring has become a problem for her Chicago Sky

Today was supposed to be a game when WNBA rookie Angel Reese and her Chicago Sky exacted revenge on former teammate Marina Mabrey. After her trade to the Connecticut Sun, her comments suggested she was part of a middling team led by rookies. That rookie, who was supposed to be the offensive spearhead going forward, missed easy shots, resulting in a loss.

The game was a David vs Goliath affair, as Mabrey had joined one of the best teams in the league. After leading her former team in points, the Sky were expected to struggle until they found their offensive rhythm. Their two rookies were to be the base for their future.

With the number of shots Reese has taken in the last three games, it is clear she has become the focal point of attack. But as has been the case so far, her conversation rate is poor.

Tonight, she missed easy shots near the rim. Especially one that had fans holding their heads when Angel Reese couldn’t finish, despite having no defenders guarding her. That and posting just 3 of 12 shots was one of the reasons her team could not contend against the likes of the Sun.

They tried to close the gap to an early lead through gritty play and capitalizing on turnovers. But in the end, the experience and defensive prowess of the Connecticut Sun shone through. Reese may have finished with another double-double, but it didn’t help them win.

Angel Reese struggling with easy shots is a problem

Fans have been watching how the WNBA rookie’s game has progressed so far. They know that she has brought in back-to-back 20 rebound games. But it is also noticeable that she still struggles from the field.

It seems Marina Mabrey’s exit is starting to show that the Chicago Sky is worse without a genuine scorer. Fans of the game are not happy. They feel that Angel Reese is just stat padding her way to win personal accolades. On the contrary, her game is not helping her team win. See those and other comments from them below;

The WNBA Rookie of the Year race is starting to tilt. Angel Reese was the favorite of many midway through the season. But now, with three out of four losses, her team’s win/loss record is starting to go against her.
