There seems to be no love lost between Angel Reese and Jalen Duren, as the WNBA star did not waste any time in throwing shade at her alleged ex. Duren has struggled in the first-round series against the Orlando Magic. The Magic registered a 94-88 victory over the Detroit Pistons in Game 4 at the Kia Center on Monday night.

It was a disappointing loss for Duren and the Pistons. With the Magic having the home-court advantage, the Pistons are now at serious risk of being eliminated in the first round as they currently face a 3-1 deficit. After the game, Reese posted and celebrated a picture of her boyfriend, Wendell Carter Jr., dunking on Duren.

While there is no confirmation, there were rumors that Angel Reese and Jalen Duren were seeing each other in the summer of 2024. Neither star has ever addressed the rumors, but if they did, Reese has moved on as she is currently dating Magic star Wendell Carter Jr.

The rumors of Reese and Duren dating started when the two exchanged flirtatious comments on Instagram. The speculations only rose when they were rumored to be vacationing together. However, there hasn’t been anything more since.

Reese has grown into one of the biggest figures in the WNBA in just two years since being drafted. She has built a career off the court as well through her business ventures.

Meanwhile, Duren is currently in his fourth season in the NBA. This season, Duren has elevated his game into a solid two-way player, and he earned his first All-Star selection this year. But things have been far from smooth so far in the playoffs.

While some fans looked at it as Reese celebrating Carter, some saw it as a subtle jab at Duren, and the picture posted was intentional. Her relationship with Carter has been confirmed by both stars.

Jalen Duren struggles leave the Detroit Pistons in a bind

Jalen Duren is coming off his highest scoring regular season since entering the league. This campaign, he was averaging 19.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, and two assists in 70 appearances. The 2025-26 campaign saw a significant jump in his scoring numbers.

Duren emerged as a solid secondary option behind Cade Cunningham. The Pistons surprised everyone in the regular season as they finished at the top of the Eastern Conference standings with a 60-22 record. They had the third-best record in the league after the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs.

However, Duren has been a shell of himself so far in the postseason. The Pistons were seen as strong favorites to progress after being drawn against the Magic in the first round. But Duren has failed to be a secondary scorer after Cunningham in the series.

Duren has not shown any aggression and has significantly faltered in the four games against the Magic. He is averaging just 9.8 points in this series. This decline in performance is alarming as the Pistons are just one loss away from elimination.
