In a huge blow for FC Barcelona, Ansu Fati has undergone a knee surgery and will be out for four months. The injury happened in the match against Real Betis and Fati was substituted in the first half. Moreover, the player has been hugely successful for Barcelona as he got five goals and two assists this season. Koeman will now have to find a way to replace Fati in the lineup with Dembele looking the likely candidate.

Fati has broken several records for Barcelona in his short career so far. The 18 year old is the youngest champions league scorer in history and also the youngest goal scorer for the Spanish National Team. He looks to be on his way to be a legend for FC Barcelona and the most likely successor to Messi.

FC Barcelona put out a statement saying, “The first team player Ansu Fati has undergone a successful operation on Monday for the injury to the internal meniscus of the left knee by Dr Ramon Cugat and under the supervision of the club’s medical services. The approximate time of recovery will be four months.”

The club further added, “It should be remembered that Ansu played the first half of Barca v Betis, in which he was very active. This season, the young Barca forward has played 10 games, seven in the League and three in the Champions league. In total Ansu has played 596 minutes this season, in which he has managed to score five goals and distribute two assists.”
