On May 16 at the Target Center, the Minnesota Timberwolves showed the whole NBA community that they mean serious business this season. In Game 6 of the NBA Playoffs Western Conference Semifinals, the Timberwolves defeated the Denver Nuggets with a 45-point blowout at home, forcing a Game 7 matchup.

Notably, the Timberwolves’ star man Anthony Edwards was at the forefront of their attack. He dropped 27 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists on the Denver team. In addition, Edwards has been making rounds on social media for warning the Denver staff that he would be ‘back’ for Game 7 in Denver.

Anthony Edwards was questioned about what he said to a Nuggets staff member following their Game 5 defeat during his postgame press conference on Thursday. He gave the employee his brutal message.

The Denver Nuggets players were outclassed by the Timberwolves. Many of their players had an off night at the Target Center, with only Nikola Jokic crossing the 20-point mark, dropping 22 points on the Timberwolves. Furthermore, Jamal Murray tallied only 10 points and Aaron Gordon managed to get just 12 points in their defeat to the Timberwolves.

Anthony Edwards not reason for bad performance, says Jamal Murray

The Denver Nuggets‘ sleek forward Jamal Murray had a dismal night at the Target Center. He scored only 10 points against the Timberwolves while being guarded by Anthony Edwards. Also, many may argue that Edwards was the reason for Murray’s bad performance, but Murray himself does not think that way.

Murray stated that the Nuggets’ lopsided loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 6 on Thursday night wasn’t caused by Edwards’ defense.

It was less about [Edwards], it was more about my elbow at that point, Even some passes, my arm... it was more offensively for him. It wasn't him guarding me. He was scoring on the other end, and scoring at a great rate.

It wasn’t only Murray who was having trouble shooting for the Nuggets. Also, the Nuggets could only shoot 30.2 percent as a team from the field, while the Timberwolves shot 46.5 percent overall. Furthermore, who comes out victorious in this ongoing NBA playoff series in Game 7 on May 18 in Denver remains to be seen.
