Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves are headed to the Conference finals after win in Game 7.
Anthony Edwards went viral during Game 7 against the Nuggets.
On Sunday, the Minnesota Timberwolves shocked the Denver Nuggets with a huge comeback win in Game 7 to qualify for the Western Conference Finals. The game was the main topic on social media for multiple reasons, but Anthony Edwards caught the netizens’ attention for his unique mentality.
Anthony Edwards had a relatively quiet night in the elimination game as the Minnesota Timberwolves were trailing big. But the 22-year-old caught fire as the team started to find the rhythm. While the Timberwolves cut down the lead to three points in the third quarter, Edwards showed his confidence while talking to the coaching staff while he was benched.
I'm finna get in my bag.Anthony Edwards said
The star did just that as the Timberwolves took over the game and Edwards shot a three-pointer to give Minnesota a ten-point lead. The guard was certainly hyped as he did not hesitate to talk trash to the Denver Nuggets fans while pointing at them at the Ball Arena.
Ant-Man was shooting poorly throughout the game but made the essential shots in crucial times. Edwards was 6/24 in field goals, shooting 25% and 2/10 from the three-point line. But the guard contributed in other categories, as he had eight rebounds, seven assists, and two steals.
Anthony Edwards called himself trash after learning his stats
In Edwards’ offensive absence, the players on the Timberwolves roster took the responsibility on their shoulders. Jaden McDaniels, Karl-Anthony Towns, and even the sixth man of the year, Naz Reid, made some tough shots to add to the score.
However, many were surprised by Ant-Man’s low shooting percentage, including Edwards himself. Despite being positive on the court, Edwards kept things honest after the game. As the star joined KAT for the press conference, Edwards was stunned by his numbers on the stat sheet.
Damn, I'm trash. 6 for 24.. Look at me, 2 for 10. S**t.Anthony Edwards said
Regardless of his stats, Edwards gave the fans his usual confident self and turned things around. The Timberwolves have qualified for the conference finals after 20 years credited to Edwards’ squad. Despite the poor performance tonight, Ant-Man has played a huge role in the team’s success.
