Anthony Edwards, the Minnesota Timberwolves star, has moved on from his team’s loss to the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals. He expressed his focus on the future, stating via an interview with Yahoo Sports’ Vincent Goodwill, that dwelling on the past won’t change the outcome.

The Timberwolves had a remarkable playoff run, sweeping the Phoenix Suns and defeating the Denver Nuggets in seven games before falling to the Mavericks. Moving forward, Ant Man is excited to play alongside his favorite player, Kevin Durant, on Team USA in the Olympics.

That s--t gone. I can't do nothing about that, I can't go back and replay it. It's over. We lost. All I'm thinking about now is, if we get back there, what are we going to do? It's over with.

Edwards has always admired Kevin Durant, who he called the team’s alpha, as he watched him make clutch shots on TV during the Olympics. Now he’s eager to play alongside him and witness his greatness firsthand.

He hopes to learn from Durant’s experience and establish his own Olympic legacy in Paris. And with Durant’s Olympic expertise and Edwards’ talent, they’re expected to form a strong duo in Paris, provided he gets his wishes of being the number one option.

Anthony Edwards isn’t taking anything from me, Kevin Durant says

Kevin Durant sat down with Yahoo Sports’ Vincent Goodwill and discussed his thoughts on Anthony Edwards. KD believes that Edwards is a student of the game with a high IQ, and he’s putting in the work to reach the same level as the greats.

You can get to that level, but you can't take what I've done from me. You can beat me in a game or a series or something, that's cool… The stuff that I've acquired since being in this league, you can just match it and I think Ant's going to be one of those players that's going to match it.

Durant acknowledged that Edwards gained more respect as a basketball player after their playoff matchup. However, he clarified that Edwards isn’t taking anything from him; instead, he’s matching the level of greatness that Durant has achieved.

Durant’s comments show that he has a high level of respect for Edwards and believes that he will be one of the players who will match his level of greatness. He wants Edwards to earn his own legacy rather than trying to take something from him.
