Anthony Edwards, the Minnesota Timberwolves star shooting guard, garnered all the attention following his team’s defeat in Game 4 of their NBA playoff series against the Denver Nuggets. After defeating the Timberwolves 115-107 at Target Center in Minneapolis, the Nuggets tied the series at 2-2.

Interestingly, there were a few exchanges of words between Edwards and the Nuggets’ Jamal Murray, after the final buzzer was sounded. Questions regarding what the Timberwolves star said to Murray were made during his press conference following the game. Edwards claimed that he told Murray to keep the trash talk on high.

Edwards shot 16/25 from the field to end with a game-high 44 points. However, he received very little support from his teammates, which eventually saw them lose to the Nuggets.

On the other hand, the Nuggets players were on fire, with Nikola Jokic dropping 35 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists. Aaron Gordon scored 27 points on 11 of 12 shots, almost reaching a perfect scoring performance and Murray finished with 8 assists and 19 points.

Anthony Edwards is locked in ahead of Game 5 against Nuggets

In Game 4 against the Denver Nuggets, the Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards made NBA history as soon as he reached the 40-point mark. After Edwards scored 40 points, the TNT broadcast displayed a statistic showing that, among players 22 years of age or less, Edwards has gone past the likes of Amar’e Stoudemire, Kevin Durant, and LeBron James for the second-most 40-point games in the playoffs.

After achieving this huge feat, Edwards does not seem to stop. Despite being on the losing side on Sunday, he warned the Nuggets players and fans ahead of game 5. 

I don't think they got any momentum. We won two games. They won two games. At this point, it's just whoever wins two games. I don't know how people look at it, but I look at like I'm happy. We're competing at the highest level.

With Edwards locked in for the upcoming fixture, many expectations will be on the Timberwolves’ other players too. For the Timberwolves to get past the Nuggets, they will need their whole roster to be at their flying best in the upcoming Game 5 on Tuesday, May 14.
