Despite having the weakest receiving corps in the league last season, the Kansas City Chiefs came out victorious in the Super Bowl and became a two-time consecutive Super Bowl champion. However, they aren’t done yet as star quarterback Patrick Mahomes is aiming for a historic three-peat.
During his recent appearance on the Up & Adams podcast, the former Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib talked about the reigning Super Bowl champions and the odds of them achieving a three-peat in the coming 2024 season.
Contrary to what many presume regarding the Chiefs’ offensive line, former Super Bowl champion asserted they have the “most explosive” offense in the league, even more than the one featuring NFL ‘Cheetah’ and former Chiefs’ receiver Tyreek Hill.
I feel like the Chiefs, this is probably the most explosive offense that Patrick Mahomes has ever had. So I'm excited to see what they do. He got this revamped offense, man, these young guys.Aqib Talib said
After last season’s success, the Chiefs worked on their offensive line this offseason as Talib highlighted. They have added some great offensive weapons on the roster, with whom Mahomes actually has a chance to create history.
Chiefs’ new offensive weapons make them harder to beat
With star receiver Hill on the roster, the Chiefs won one Super Bowl and as they lost him to the Miami Dolphins; they won two back-to-back Super Bowls. Talib emphasized that, saying Kansas City’s offense with the eight-time Pro Bowler lacked depth, but now, they have multiple leading players, “who can play football.”
You almost got a Tyreek [Hill], you almost got two of them– you got Hollywood [Marquise Brown] and [Xavier] Worthy. Then you got one of the best catch-and-run guys underneath in Rashee Rice… and then you got [Travis] Kelce and then you got a great running back.Aqib Talib praised the Chiefs’ offseason moves
Furthermore, Talib claimed that the elite quarterback Mahomes is entering his “OG veteran days” and potentially becoming the current NFL G.O.A.T. The former NFL cornerback believes it wouldn’t be easy for other teams to challenge the Chiefs in the coming season or stop them from achieving a three-peat.
