Armenian fighter Arman Tsarukyan is currently ranked as the top fighter in the UFC lightweight division. Recently, however, he faced intense criticism from several prominent figures in the UFC community. Among them was fellow lightweight fighter Dan Hooker, who saw an opportunity to mock Tsarukyan. Nevertheless, fate often presents second chances, and now Tsarukyan has received his.

Dan Hooker, the 6th-ranked lightweight fighter, was scheduled to face Justin Gaethje at UFC 313. Fans were eagerly anticipating this matchup, but Hooker recently shared some concerning news. The ‘Hangman’ confirmed that he would be withdrawing from the fight due to a hand injury. In response to this announcement, Arman Tsarukyan quickly reacted with a cheeky comment directed at Hooker.

Karma doesn’t miss. Big mouth, glass hands – maybe just stick to talking instead of fighting,

Tsarukyan emphasized that ‘karma’ eventually catches up to everyone, including Hooker. Ahead of his title fight, the Armenian fighter had to withdraw due to a back injury. During this time, since Tsarukyan comes from a privileged background, Hooker mocked him by referencing his father’s wealth. As the Armenian fighter missed out on an important match of his career, it’s the same case for the ‘Hangman.’

Interestingly, Hooker is eager to compete despite his injury, but the medical staff will not permit him to proceed. Meanwhile, following the news of his withdrawal, several other lightweight fighters have expressed their desire to replace Hooker and fight Gaethje at UFC 313. However, nothing has been confirmed by the UFC executives at this time.

Dan Hooker once showed no hesitance for a potential fight against Arman Tsarukyan

Arman Tsarukyan is near title glory in the UFC, while Dan Hooker is a seasoned veteran who has faced numerous tough competitors. Some of Hooker’s most notable victories in the UFC include wins over Gilbert Burns and Mateusz Gamrot. Although he has experienced losses against elite opponents, the ‘Hangman’ is well-regarded for delivering grueling performances in the Octagon.

Always filled with confidence, Hooker has never been afraid to confront tough challengers in the UFC. Because of this, the ‘Hangman’ was once asked about a potential matchup with Arman Tsarukyan. This question arose mainly because both fighters had been discussing the possibility of fighting each other on several occasions.

Yeah, f**k ’em. I’ll fight him. Of course, I’d love to punch that guy in the throat. December, yeah. I would never turn down a fight in my life, let alone a title fight. That’s what we all do it for. Yeah, perfect.

Since both UFC lightweight fighters had to withdraw from their scheduled bouts, it will be interesting to see if their ongoing back-and-forth comments lead to a potential matchup.
