Arman Tsarukyan is ready to try his luck for the UFC lightweight title this weekend at UFC 311. The Armenian fighter will take on reigning champion Islam Makhachev in a much-anticipated title fight. Ahead of the fight, the Armenian star has found himself a new and fitting nickname.
During the UFC 311 media day, Arman Tsarukyan was asked a question about fans calling him the ‘Armenian Batman.’ The fighter couldn’t understand it initially. Then, he realized the correlation between him and the iconic Bruce Wayne character. Both come from s rich backgrounds, but chose to train and become skillful fighters.
Tsarukyan liked the nickname, but also suggested that unlike Batman he hasn’t helped others. The fighter promised to do so after he earned the lightweight title this weekend against Islam Makhachev. Going into the fight, the challenger is the underdog but remains confident about pulling out an upset.

Tsarukyan believes that the Dagestani has a lot of pressure to carry the legacy that was started by UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov. On the other hand, the Armenian, coming from a rich family, doesn’t need to fight for a living and is less invested. While most fighters share a story about coming from poor backgrounds, Tsarukyan’s story is definitely fresh to encounter.
