The Gunners have been left worried ahead of their match against Manchester United, after Gabriel Magalhaes sustained an injury during an EPL clash against West Ham. The defender, despite scoring a goal for Arsenal in the first half, was substituted off at half-time.

Gabriel Magalhaes scored his second successive goal in back-to-back matches, taking his season goal-scoring tally to four goals. He opened the scoring for Arsenal in the 10th minute against West Ham, which they subsequently went on to win 5-2. Gabriel scored with a header from a brilliant corner kick by Bukayo Saka. The Gunners went on to score four more goals in the first half against the Hammers, with Saka, Leandro Trossard, Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz finding their names on the score-sheet.

Gabriel also won a penalty at the end of the first-half, which was later converted by Saka. It was awarded after the 26-year-old was punched in the head by West Ham keeper Lukasz Fabianski. The center-back seemed a bit startled after the knock, but quickly got back on his feet to play until the half-time whistle. He was later replaced by Jakub Kiwior. The details of Gabriel’s injury are yet to be revealed, but it is quite certain that he has suffered from a concussion, keeping him out of the Manchester United clash.

The Brazilian international had previously been taken off due to similar injury concerns, during Arsenal’s midweek UCL win against Sporting CP. Apart from Gabriel, midfielders Thomas Partey and Mikel Merino also remain doubtful to feature against Man United, after having missed out on the West Ham encounter.

Sporting CP forward Viktor Gyokeres sends two-word reaction after Gabriel Magalhaes’ celebration

Gabriel Magalhaes attracted controversy by emulating Viktor Gyokeres’ popular celebration during Arsenal’s 5-1 triumph over Sporting CP. Some fans claimed that the defender recreated Gyokeres’ celebration in order to mock him during the match, as he received social media backlash.

Despite criticism, the Brazilian star once again repeated it, as he performed the celebration after scoring a goal for Arsenal, in a 5-2 win over West Ham. The Swedish forward instantly took to social media to share a message. While not taking a dig at Gabriel this time, Gyokeres shared a picture of himself, with the caption ‘Let’s Go’ to address Sporting CP fans.

The Swedish star had however, initially responded to the Arsenal star emulating his celebration. In an interview, Gyokeres interestingly urged Magalhaes to copy his celebration, if he cannot create one of his own.
