With an astonishing three-touchdown performance in Week 11, Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty has improved to the third-best odds of winning the Heisman Trophy. Following his impressive performance against Nevada, fans are incredibly confident that he can compete head-to-head against the Heisman Trophy frontrunner, Travis Hunter

Last Saturday, Boise State largely struggled in their home game against Nevada with two turnovers, muffing in both kick and punt and allowing the opponents to score an impressive touchdown. But as the star running back tightened up his cleats, he turned around the game resulting in his team’s 28-21 victory.

Jeanty improved his Heisman Trophy odds with a standout performance, recording 34 carries, 208 yards, and three-touchdown, while also leading college football with the most rushing yards of 1,734. Throughout this season, Jeanty has demonstrated exceptional skills in avoiding defenders and powering through tackles.

The Broncos running back is aiming to break the all-time single-season rushing record in the history of college football. Legendary running back Barry Sanders set the record with 2,628 yards in 1988 while playing for Oklahoma State– a remarkable feat that led him to win the Heisman Trophy

Although fans insist on Jeanty outpacing the Colorado star Hunter in the Heisman Trophy race, Hunter seems to have a different opinion. In his interview with the Outta Pocket with RGIII podcast, the Buffs’ star wide receiver asserted that Jeanty would never be able to defeat him because of his ability to play on both sides.

The Boise State’s star is coming off his ninth 100-yard rushing game and aiming straight at the NCAA single-season rushing record set by legendary Sanders. If he indeed defeated Hunter in the Heisman Trophy race, he would become the first running back since 2015 to win the honor. The last running back to do so was Alabama’s Derrick Henry, who entered the league as the second-round draft pick.

One fan exclaimed, “Give him the Heisman,” while another wrote on X, “Jeanty keeps making history one game at a time.” Here are some of the fan reactions.

This season, Jeanty has tallied 224 carries, 1,734 yards, and 23 rushing touchdowns. To break the iconic record of Sanders, all he needs is 894 yards more in the remaining three regular-season games. If Jeanty breaks Sanders’ record, he would have an edge for the Heisman Trophy.
