Atletico Madrid looking at Dembele as Diego Costa replacement

Atletico Madrid recently terminated Diego Costa’s contract and are looking for options to replace his goal scoring returns. Atletico had identified Napoli’s Milik and Sociedad’s Willian Jose as possible options. However, reports suggest they have settled on Dembele as a replacement.
Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement to sign Moussa Dembele on loan from Lyon, with a €33 million option to buy set to be included in the final deal. Dembele has scored 45 goals in 108 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit after signing from Celtic.
Atletico Madrid are table toppers in La Liga
The forward has helped them compete for both domestic and European honours in the process. Dembele has only started 6 games for Lyon this season. He has come off the bench 10 times, and has only managed to score once this season.
On Saturday, Lyon sporting director Juninho confirmed Dembélé had asked to leave. Dembele is a goal scoring forward and is coming on the back of two 20 plus goal seasons.
According to Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Atletico are closing in on Dembele and are looking to sign the player on a loan deal with an option to buy in the future. An agreement has been reached between the two clubs, and the medicals will take place soon.
Atletico Madrid will look forward to seeing Dembele partner up with Suarez and maintain their perfect start to La Liga. Atletico are currently top of La Liga a point ahead of Real Madrid but have 3 games in hand.
