Alex de Minaur is a potential superstar for Australian and World Tennis. Born and raised in Australia, he is Uruguayan from his paternal side and Spanish from his maternal side. That explains his Australian- Spanish dual citizenship. Minaur announced himself on the scene in 2018 by winning a Challenger trophy and getting to the finals of two ATP events. 2019 he cemented his position as one to watch out for by winning three ATP titles. Early 2020 brought in bad news for Minaur as he couldn’t compete in his home open, the Australian Open, due to an Abdominal injury. But, he ended the year decently by reaching the Quarterfinal’s of the US Open.

Malek Jaziri, the journeyman from Tunisia is at the fag end of his career. A career that has lasted some 17 odd years but failed to produce a single title. But he has qualified for the knockouts of all four majors, a sign of a decent overall game. His biggest achievement till date is winning the Gold Medal at the Pan Arab Games in 2011.

Unless Minaur is not fully fit, he should see this match through without braking a sweat. Minaur is too fast, has a fantastic backhand , and a great overall game to be bothered by players outside the top 20. Malek Jaziri will have to play a great game of tennis and use all his experience to stand a chance against this future star from down under.
