Frances Tiafoe, eight seed at the Delray Beach Open got off his 2021 campaign in the best possible fashion as he defeated fellow American, Donald Young in straight sets in round one. Tiafoe dropped just seven games on course to his first round victory. The American last played at the Astana Open where he lost in the semifinals to the eventual champion, John Millman in three sets.

Bjorn Fratangelo also had a comfortable first round victory, defeating fellow Amercian, Kevin King in the first round. He dropped just four games in the match and won an impressive 88% of his points on first serve. The American has mostly been involved in playing the Challenger events for majority of last year. He will look forward to perform well on the ATP circuit in 2021.
